Some newspapers publish daily soduko aside from the usual crossword puzzle. Beforehand I prefer the crossword but since I tried soduko I became addicted.
It’s a mathematical mind conditioning game, not really hardcore math per se because you only need to know your 1 to 9 numbers and a few rules. No addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra, geometry or calculus.
The only rule in Soduko:
On a 3×3 box, you can only use the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 ONCE.
That’s all, simple right? What causes the complication is the number of 3×3 box, usually you have 9 sets.
Additional rule would be:
Use nos 1 to 9 ONCE vertically and horizontally.
I got this Soduko Compendium book from a pretty lady friend (who works in a printing press and is source of great books of various topics), the Soduko here has various difficulty from Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Difficult and Very Difficult. The rules are the same but the difficulty depends on the number of clues. I used to time myself while working on a Very Easy Soduko and it was 5 minutes max.
