Not that I’m a Guru. I actually want to know the art of Seduction.

I have this book The Concise Art of Seduction by Robert Greene for 46AED at Magrudy’s Bookstore.  That’s approx $13, so Amazon has a better price.

Charms, persuasion, the ability to create illusions: these are some of the dazzling gifts of the Seducer, the compelling figure who is able to manipulate, mislead and give pleasure all at once. Where’s Willy?

And who is Willy by the way?

A friend gave me this book, initially I thought it was a children’s book with the drawings and such until I saw the title! Still I was skeptical and checked the content itself, and to my horror and amazement it was definitely not a children’s book. We had fun finding Willy and his buddies though.

Full title of the book is Where’s Willy, Have you spotted Dick?

Bargain Hunt: Sweet Dreams Pocketbooks

Those were the popular pocketbook series during my HS years. I remember owning around 20+ copies but didn’t know where are those now. I happen to remember Sweet Dreams when one of my friends shared to me her latest collection of Sweet Dreams pocketbooks. She asked me to help her search for copies and so we landed on Amazon (that’s also how I learned of Amazon’s affiliate program). There were dozens new and used copies but her problem is the shipping cost which will be more than the cost of the book itself.

First option is to order thru Amazon and deliver it to her sister’s address and let her sister send it to her.

Second option is to go to second hand bookstores, which I also tried but found too ragged copies.

Third option is to ask friends for copies, which I am also doing for her now. I am asking my blogger friends if you have any old Sweet Dreams pocketbooks which you can share to us for a minimal fee.

So there goes our Sweet Dreams pocketbooks Bargain Hunt.

Curious About Before Ever After

There was an article on Yahoo News about a Filipina writer Samantha Sotto who wrote the  bestseller Before Ever After. It was said there that if one hadn’t heard of her (Sam) or the book (Before Ever After), s/he must been living under a rock.

Well sorry, I must be really living under a rock because I haven’t heard any about it.

Now I’m curious!

Jaz Parks Series by Jennifer Rardin

A new kick ass novel, Jaz Parks is part Assassin part Assistant to a Vampire boss. I have the first 5 books but never got the chance to read it yet. I just kept those books on stand-by mode if ever 

  1. I am stranded to a remote place without electricity, nope make it without internet access, let me have the electricity.
  2. I got to wait for hours in queue on some business thingy.
  3. I read a really awesome review for this series.
  4. I heard that this series will be made into a movie or tv series.

I usually bring the book with me but something always comes before I could open the first page. Not just feeling it yet.

William & Catherine: The Royal Wedding Album

Inspired by my Barbie & Ken post at Charming Junkie.

Filled with images from the early days of their courtship right through the big day itself, ITV New’s William & Catherine: The Royal Wedding Album is the perfect keepsake of this modern-day love story.

I got this book as a gift but if not I would really buy it for myself. I love fairy tales and happy ever after stories.

The book contains 6 chapters:

Chapter 1: Prince William (all about Prince William from birth to present)

Chapter 2: Catherine Middleton (all about Kate from birth to present)

Chapter 3: St Andrews (where the two met)

Chapter 4: A Low-Key Courtship (their on and off relationship)

Chapter 5: The Engagement (Prince William popped out the question somewhere in Kenya)

Chapter 6: The Wedding (The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge)

Soduko a Day

Some newspapers publish daily soduko aside from the usual crossword puzzle. Beforehand I prefer the crossword but since I tried soduko I became addicted.

It’s a mathematical mind conditioning game, not really hardcore math per se because you only need to know your 1 to 9 numbers and a few rules. No addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra, geometry or calculus.

The only rule in Soduko:

On a 3×3 box, you can only use the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 ONCE.

That’s all, simple right? What causes the complication is the number of 3×3 box, usually you have 9 sets.

Additional rule would be:

Use nos 1 to 9 ONCE vertically and horizontally.

I got this Soduko Compendium book from a pretty lady friend (who works in a printing press and is source of great books of various topics), the Soduko here has various difficulty from Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Difficult and Very Difficult. The rules are the same but the difficulty depends on the number of clues. I used to time myself while working on a Very Easy Soduko and it was 5 minutes max.
